I have reserved a special place in my for Nigeria. Why? You may ask and my answer is because, by and large, Nigerians are warm and friendly people. Moreover, they want you to enjoy the country. Everywhere I go, the greeting is the same warm and inviting “you’re welcome.” Regardless of age, gender, ethnic or religious affiliation, with one exception that happened years ago and proved to be an aberration, I receive the same warm welcome throughout the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Take today for instance, I met 4 brilliant young Nigerians, one recent graduate in Public Health and the others completing degrees in Civil Engineering, Psychology and Environmental Health Sciences at Lead City University (LCU), my Host Institution. They took the time to converse with me and ply me with questions about the United States. This is, in essence, what the Fulbright Specialist Program is all about, People-to-People Exchanges. The Nigerians call it rubbing minds and they are experts at it. My thanks Qd Bossman, Ajibola, Qudus and Idowu for humoring this Baby Boomer Nana and making my day such a fulfilling one.@fulbright, #Nigeria, #Education, #DrG, #GenerativeGaze, #Peace, #InternationalUnderstanding
