Boren Fellowships are sponsored by the National Security Education Program and provide up to $30,000 to U.S. graduate students. These fellowships aim to incorporate a crucial international and language component into graduate education, achieved through specialization in area study, language study, or increased language proficiency. Boren Fellows study a diverse array of critical languages, such as Arabic, Chinese, Portuguese, and Swahili. Awards are available to students of all proficiency levels who are dedicated to enhancing their skills.

Fulbright Fellowships are sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State. This program expands perspectives through academic and professional advancement and cross-cultural dialogue. Fulbright Fellows have the opportunity to study, teach, and conduct research, exchange ideas and contribute to finding solutions to shared international concerns. During fellowships Fulbrighters will meet, work, live with and learn from people of the host country, sharing daily experiences.  The Fulbright Program is an important element of the United States’ bilateral relationships with countries around the world. U.S. and foreign governments jointly set priorities for the exchanges.

Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the United Kingdom. Up to fifty Scholars are selected each year to study at graduate level at an UK institution in any field of study. As future leaders, with a lasting understanding of British society, Marshall Scholars strengthen the enduring relationship between the British and American peoples, their governments and their institutions. Marshall Scholars are talented, independent and wide-ranging, and their time as Scholars enhances their intellectual and personal growth. Their direct engagement with Britain through its best academic programs contributes to their ultimate personal success.
