Nigeria and Nigerians never cease to amaze me. Yesterday, I enjoyed the pleasure of a leisurely luncheon outing with two friends from my host institution, Lead City University (LCU), a remarkable place committed to teaching and learning. LCU has made me feel welcome, safe and secure in so many ways.
I suggested Arnheim as the venue for what turned out to be an incredible meal. I made sure to give our waitress a juicy tip; she was so helpful and attentive…you may recall my post, Who Said Fulbright Specialists Can’t Chillax? from February 20, 2024…yes this was a repeat visit to Arnheim. I had grilled fish that was absolutely exquisite. It just occurred to me that should I return to the scene of these wonderful encounters, in order “to hook up” the chef too 😎. But that’s not all, little did I know Arnheim has an art gallery too…here’s where the amazing enters, we encountered art made with groundnut or what we, in the U.S. call peanut and egg shells. The 2 pieces we saw were skillfully executed. Regrettably, the gallery was closed. Moreover, I want to obtain permission to post at least one piece of the magnificent art I saw. I think I’ve just talked myself into another visit to Arnheim. Ya think? @fulbright, #DrG, Generative_Gaze, #Africa, #Nigeria, #Education,
