Honoring Friends and Allies (Part 1)

In this Artist Statement, I honor my friend and ally Dr. Steve Shaw.

I am a global citizen, profoundly committed to peace and social justice. My art and research reflect my values and commitment to harmonious, sustainable living on Earth. Art, I have come to appreciate, has the power to interrogate the status quo as well as identify paradoxes while empowering us to imagine alternatives. I have come to view my life as an evolving creative expression. Solar Sentiments afforded me the opportunity to relax and renew as I rescued and reclaimed bits and pieces of my world that might otherwise be destined for the garbage heap. As an artist, I ask what are the elements of your life that can be rescued and reclaimed? What aspects of your life need to be jettisoned in order for you to live in balance enjoying peace of mind and radiant health?
