November 14 spot report on LCU Fulbright Specialist Project

On November 14, 2023, Dr. G facilitated an in-depth leadership seminar for ten LCU staff members drawn from, inter alia, the Office of the Registrar, Information Sciences, Political Science and International Affairs.  The Best Self-concept is drawn from Positive Organizational Scholarship and posits that individuals, communities and organizations thrive when we bring our best selves into the equation. During the course of the Best Self Leadership Seminar, participants (1) identified qualities and characteristics of effective leaders, (2) considered the power of listening to an effective leadership practice, (3) gained insight into their individual strengths and (4) developed a written profile describing the qualities and characteristics of their Best Self.  During this highly interactive session, we also discussed the importance of self-care and self-reflection.  Dr. G sent seminar participants an electronic copy of the Best Self Facilitator Manual. She also forwarded the Critical Incident Questionnaire (CIQ), asking them to complete and return it.
